This student text has been written to support learning and teaching of students between the ages of 8 and 13 in the independent schools sector. Featuring a free support CD-ROM that contains electronic resources linked to the content of the book, it not only provides a practical means of improving students' performance across the main strands of ICT, but also represents a sound basis for preparing students for ISEB's new Certificate of Achievement in ICT.Each chapter covers one of these strands, providing a structured approach that develops levels of competency by virtue of stepped activities. Students are then given the opportunity to demonstrate best practice through extended projects that are provided at the end of each chapter and supported by files included on the CD-ROM in the back of the book.
The text is supported by a Teacher Resource Pack (and accompanying CD-ROM), which provides:- photocopiable activity sheets linked to the student text;- teacher notes providing guidance on levelling students' work in relation to strands of ICT;- resources (on the CD-ROM) that can be given to each subject department and are designed to help promote the use of ICT across the curriculum, using skills developed in ICT as a means of promoting excellence in other subject areas.
