nB.K.S. Iyengar is the founder of Iyengar Yoga and is considered one of the foremost yoga teachers in the world. He is the recipient of Padma Vibhushana-second highest civilian award in India. This book is the collection of my articles, speeches, talks, interviews, question-answer sessions and teachings written and delivered at different times and on different occasions. These collected works comprise several volumes. This first volume contains my biographical works, the definition of yoga and the exposition of Patanlala Yoga. The whole work is inspired of Patanjali's words of wisdom woven through the eight petals (a$ SiJga) of yoga, namely, yama, niyama, ssena prSoSySma, pratyShSra, dhSrao8, dhysne and semsdhi They are synthesised and presented in such a manner to ignite interest in the readers and inspire them to take to the practical aspect of yoga.
