n nA graduated series of lessons for teaching the reading of music at sight in both Sol-fa and Staff notation. Teachers should use their own discretion as to when to go on from one lesson to the next, since for some children, the same lesson may have to be worked through several times. A short time (say 15 minutes) spent on these lessons every day will be found more valuable than a longer time once or twice a week. Ear-tests of a series of notes to be written down in the children's notebooks are given regularly. The use of well-known folk songs for practice is highly recommended. n
